Jacky who was born and raised in Switzerland always had a passion
for music which first drove her to take piano and jazz ballet lessons.
Her high school music teacher noticed Jacky's talent and clear voice
and gave her the opportunity to receive classical training, perform
with the choir and in solo projects.
In
1990 she co-founded the group "SuperCountry" with long
time professional musician Jimmy Duncombe who had a string of hits
in Europe in the mid 60's such as Skinny Minnie, Black Eyes and
My Soul with his group Jimmy & The Rackets. They also toured
with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks and the
Dave Clark Five.
With
SuperCountry Jacky and Jimmy combined the lyrical harmonies of the
Everly Brothers and mainstream country music with an earthy chunk
of Rock'a'Billy. Based in Switzerland the group was successful throughout
Europe with performances at the Swiss Alps Music Festival Grindelwald,
Open-Air Leipzig, Open-Air Linz, Country & Blues Festival Koenigswiesen
and Trucker Meeting Rheinböllen... to name just a few (concert

Apart from picking up bass and rhythm guitar, Jacky developed herself
into a talented singer-songwriter. In 1997 she won the Swiss «Schlagerbarometer»
contest on national radio wtith SuperCountry and their song «Take
It Easy».
SuperCountry's debut album "Wake Up" was launched in 1990
with a Swiss tour, four TV shows and over 40 live concerts and festival
appearances. Just a year after their formation SuperCountry took
third place in the Swiss heats of the Euro Country Music Masters
Contest. Shortly thereafter an international record label picked
up their album for distribution in Germany, Austria, Switzerland
and the Benelux countries and released it as "Lets have A Party".
Just in time for their international record release SuperCountry
had a major success on the first national Country Music television
show "Country Roads" and took 2nd place in the Swiss heats
of the ECMM 1992.
After three years of succsessful touring they suprised their now
considerable fan follwing with the release of their third album"Say
it through the Music". The album comprised 6 cover songs and
6 of their own com-positions presenting a tasteful variety of material
with Tex-Mex-, Gospel- and Rock'a'Billy-influences as well as "Back
to the Roots" traditional picking, Everly Brothers harmonies
and new Country Stomp.
Jimmy und Jacky established their second home and recording studio
in America's country music city NASHVILLE, Tennessee and continued
touring Switzerland and Europe regularely. In 1996 they presented
SuperCountry's fourth album "FESTIVAL FAVORITES" which
contained the most requested festival hits and highlights of SuperCountry's
live show including "Country Roads", " NeNaNeNa",
"Jambalaya", "Jackson", "Walk Of Life",
"Dixie" and many more.
After the breaking up with the group SuperCountry and Jimmy Duncombe
at the end of 1997, Jacky Woodridge concentrated in songwriting
and took a short break for inspiration and creation.
On selected occasions she continued performing with her own band
though and appeared as special guest singer with other wellknown
groups such as «Eagle & Hawk», a Canadian Native
American Indian group, or John Scotts Dream Machine. Apart
from her earlier CD-releases with SuperCountry, she also appeared
as guest singer on various projects such as «Swiss Artists
for Aids», «Luscht zum Läbe» by Salvo or
«There In the Sun» by John Scott's Dream Machine.
Yes, today Jacky Woodridge is back on the Swiss Country Music Scene
presenting a horizon breaking sound with old and new songs. She
is ready to fly.
